Here's one of those areas where you never really run out of new things to talk about. So it seemed like a good subject to fill out all nine buttons above.
Since this page is brand-spanking-new, it's pretty weak. Coming are info, clips, and links for the bands I happen to like, as if you care. And some other music-related stuff as I see fit.
Let's throw this word in here and see how many hits it harvests: MP3 Hehe. No, I won't put a MP3 ftp site up, sorry.
If you live in the Capital District (Albany/Schenectady/Troy) you might
want to try this new radio station, 103.1 FM. It's like what the Edge
(103.5 & 103.9) was before they started to get lame a year ago... and now
they really suck. 103.9 turned to a mixed "classic" rock and
"alternative" format a month or so ago, and it's simply awful. Steven
Hawking would make a better radio DJ than the gang they've got there
now. At least Dr. Hawking has something to say, even if he lacks a nice
smooth voice to say it in. The WQBK DJs have neither, which wouldn't
matter if the music was any good. Okay, end of rant.
So for those times where your WEQX
reception is poor, or when they're in one of their Phish/Grateful Dead
moods, give 103.1 a listen. Funny thing is that Jason Keller and Bizarro
Jeff (now known as "JC") formerly of the Edge are DJs on 103.1. Curious.
I have this funny feeling that 103.1 AND 103.5/103.9 are owned by the same
company, Clear Channel
Communications, though it isn't listed as such.
And as I hinted at, 102.7 WEQX is another good Capital District and southern Vermont station. They broadcast from Manchester, VT, so coverage isn't always great, but the station is rather good. They were voted as the #4 small-market radio station nationwide in Rolling Stone magazine, and were chosen as the #1 Capital District rock station by the Times Union newspaper.
In no particular order... just a list for now, content coming when I have time. Really.
With the new Nine Inch Nails double album "The Fragile" out, I feel the need to expound upon how much ass NIN kicks. But for now, just some shots of the album cover:
And this little (well, 14.5MB isn't that little) tidbit:
"We're In This Together" video" (14.5MB
QuickTime movie). Doesn't work in Windows Media Player as far as I can
tell, but looks pretty decent in the real Apple QuickTime Player.
You can get the video in other formats on the nine inch nails homepage, which is worth a look. Try going to this link first if all you want is the videos withouth the rather annoying front page to guess at.
This page has most of the NIN song lyrics, except for those on The Fragile.
other bands...
though I should finish these first, I suppose.
