Albino Squirrel T-Shirts

It's official, the first tshirt order goes out Monday (Oct 25). Or maybe Tuesday, depending on how fast paperwork gets done. If you want one we need to know! Scroll down for contact info.

Available Designs:

At the moment there are two available designs:
design 1 Design 1: Rensselaer School Of Mutagenics. Two squirrels alongside a microscope. Libby has a iron-on transfer "prototype" of this one if you want to see it.
design 2 Design 2: Rensselaer School Of Mutagenics logo above picture of squirrel on the Greene Building. "Why Not Change The World" slogan overlay. The squirrel's eye really does look that way in the actual photo, and we chose not to alter it. Underneath, it reads "Creators of the world's first albino squirrel." Not seen in this image is that we added a small RPI "bullet" logo left of the bottom text. Mark has a iron-on version of this design, and it looks really great on the shirt.

Please do not use these images for your own purposes (as in, making your own shirts). This is not an issue of money, but one of intellectual property, and we don't want to get nasty with anyone. Thanks!

Pricing, Ordering and Other Important Stuff

First off, know that we are having the shirts professionally printed using a direct dye-sublimation process. They look and feel much better than a do-it-yourself iron-on transfer. And the shirts are heavyweight preshrunk 100% cotton. These ain't $4 roadside tourist-trap tshirts, folks. I have one shirt printed from this company, and I was impressed with it.

That being said, the price is $20 for a short-sleeve tshirt printed on the back side with your choice of above designs. A "School of Mutagenics" logo (approx. 1.5" high) with a squirrel can be printed on the front left for an additional $5. The double-sided printing costs that much more from the company, we're not trying to rip you off!

Double-sided prints are considered "special order" and as such we ask for a $5 down payment. The remaining $20 is due on delivery. For single-sided ($20) shirts, you don't have to prepay.

We can also give you an iron-on strip for the front you can attach yourself. We won't charge you for it, but we won't iron it for you either and we aren't responsible for what happens if you choose to apply it.

Note that the price includes shipping. If you went and ordered a single shirt from the factory yourself, it'd cost you more like $22 after shipping. By ordering larger quantities, the shipping cost is spread out. If we order Monday, the shirts should arrive Monday or Tuesday the next week.

The shirts themselves will be white, since white dye prints clear in this process. So if you printed on a red shirt, Alby would turn out red. Also, long-sleeve tees and other shirts (like scoop-neck ladies' tops, henleys, and sweatshirts) can be made in a couple other colors, but for now we're only doing regular white t-shirts.

As an a bit of incentive to you, we'll have the first, say, 25 shirts marked as being "first-edition" prints. This will be small (0.25") text on the bottom of design 1, or inside the blue circle on design 2.

Plus, the first shirts may meet some "opposition" from the administration for being too antiestablishment or something silly like that. We just think they're funny, and don't mean to offend RPI or anyone else for that matter. So if the 'Tute busts on us for the design and we have to change it, at least you'll have yours.

Ordering

Email me (Jameel Akari) or Mark Kahn if you'd like to order, have an idea for a future design, or want more info.

A note...

This is not really intended as some money-making business. We're not trying to cash in on Alby- but I'd personally want a tshirt myself, and we know at least a few people who would too, so we might as well make them available. And if we make a couple bucks on them, well, thanks!

And onto the disbelievers will fall a fierce storm of Acorns, such
that they know who really runs this joint.

To the Albino Squirrel Home...
